Brian Sumner

Born and raised in the Beckley WV area, graduated from Shady Spring High School and Beckley College (Mountain State University). I’ve spent the last 20 plus years doing radio, when I grow up, I’ll get a real job. I’ve also worked as a youth leader/pastor, once again when I grow up I’ll get a real job!

Favorite Author: Jim Cymbala, Billy Graham, Brother Andrew, James Bryan Smith, Brennan Manning, Donald Miller, Mike Yaconelli, Nate Larkin…this could go on a while, I love to read!

Favorite Movie: Braveheart, The Patriot, The Notebook, Brian’s Song, Footloose…this could go on a while, I love movies!

Testimony: Made an early commitment to the Lord but drifted away in my teen years. The first year of our marriage we faced several struggles including the death of 2 of my grandparents. God used the movie the “Ten Commandments” to bring both my wife and I back to Him. We each dedicated (separately) our lives to serving Christ after the Easter showing of the movie in 1989 and shared with each other the next morning our new life stories. We started back to church that next Sunday.

In the early 90’s while doing a “CCM” show on the top 40 station where I was working, God put a desire in my heart to do Christian radio. In 2000 he answered my prayers through PAR fm and now Spirit FM.
